The 80-year-old man Hajj Ali  grew old dreaming of the day on which he would watch his children have a good life, one that was not meant for him. Then the war started, adding the burden of housing & the lack of food upon the burdens of his life.
The old man has nothing to offer except the worn-out house in Asfan sub-district, in which you see childhood dreams murdered, a father’s wish wasted and an afflicted mother who does not know what the future brings.
Life has been cruel to them; the children go with their mother seeking food, knocking on the neighbor’s doors. The first thing they see is their neighbor saying goodbye to her childern as they take off to school, while they, themsleves saying goodbye to their mother as they go on their way to beg.
They are forced to dream of receiving lunch, and to strivie to have it, they have been stripped of their childhood. Their mother becomes the family provider. She has nothing to offer, except to  give her one meal to her children.
They were provided with food baskets through  our project "Provision of Life-saving food Assistance for the most affected IDPs &Host Communities (Sana'a-Hajjah)".
Their suffering was almost tangable and we were very touched. By providing food baskets we have then given the children a chance to go back to school, even though they are still working after school hours to cover their other basic needs. Hajj Ali’s family still needs much more help. With the little gave, we were able to revived hope within them.
