Salwa is a girl who lives in the Al-Qafar district in Ibb governorate. She is the eldest daughter of a limited income family consisting of 10 members. Her father is a farmer. Unfortunately, as a result of the high price of oil derivatives, his small farm has deteriorated.

Salwa dreamed of completing her secondary education and enrolling in university to become a teacher. Despite all the obstacles she was facing, her mother used to tell her that she had to do all her housework if she wanted to go to school. However, she travels every day to reach her school, she would get up early to get her work done and then head to school with her brothers.

One day her father told her that because of their deteriorating financial condition, she would marry a rich young man from one of the neighboring villages Who will offer her father a plot of agricultural land as a dowry for her. Then Salwa got married when she was just 15 years old. Now, she is in the seventh month of pregnancy. Therefore, she felt severe pain and was transferred to Al-rehab Hospital.” I was worried, but the doctor reassured me and continued to follow up on my condition until I got discharged.” Salwa mentioned.
Rehab Rural Hospital is located in Al-Qafar District, which is assisted by YFCA operational implementations and UNFPA fund.  It is considered the only hospital that provides emergency obstetric services in the directorate. As it is the only hospital in the district, the directorate receives many displaced people from various governorates, and this constitutes a great burden on the hospital.

After tests and ultrasounds were done for Salwa, she was diagnosed as premature birth. She gave birth naturally and remained under observation until the end of the day to make sure that there are no complications. “I am grateful to the whole staff of Al Rehab Hospital and thankful for the quality of service they provide.” Salwa said gladly.
“All thanks and appreciation to the staff of Al-Rehab Hospital for saving the life of my daughter and her child.” Salwa’s father said thankfully.
The doctor asked to speak with her father and her husband and explained to them the risks of pregnancy and childbirth at an early age. “I hope all parents understand the dangers of early marriage and childbirth.” The doctor said.
