The obstetric emergency Hospital of Al Sabeen has been accustomed to receive a huge number of cases with a variety of simple and complex cases from many governorates and remote areas with different situations. Therefore, it is considered as the reference hospital in Amanah Alasemah district of Sana’a governorate. With its specialized and dedicated medical staff, the hospital provides various maternal, newborn and RH services (Antenatal care, postnatal care, family planning, normal delivery and C section). These services are available to the community through YFCA operational implementation and the UNFPA fund. The hospital serves more than 90 cases per day, 2300 per month, and 28000 per year.

Yasmin Mohammed, 32 years, told us her pregnancy story which strained her. She is a mother of three daughters and her husband works for daily low wages, which can barely provide the basic needs for their kids. Therefore, it was difficult for her to have periodic pregnancy tests until she reached the fifth month of pregnancy. She began to experience swollen legs and severe headaches which forced her to visit a health facility on the outskirts of Sana 'a (Hazeez). The lady’s health status remained unchanged until her eighth month of pregnancy when the fatigue increased and it was difficult for her to move around. Yasmin arrived at the emergency department of Al Sabeen hospital; as a result of the severe pain she was experiencing as well as the existence of the early birth signs.

The lady was given a hasty response by the medical staff as they immediately prepared the emergency room. It turns out that she suffers from pregnancy pressure or so-called preeclampsia. A team of anesthesiologists, gynecologists and nurses was formed up to save her and her fetuses’ lives. The procedure was successfully performed and Yasmin gave birth to four daughters. “The patient reached a miserable situation and her family members were at a high level of panic, the necessities were done and urgent medical support was provided to her. She is in a stable status now,” The doctor said

The pediatricians directly took the infants to the baby hatch because their pregnancy age was small and they were considered to be underweight (at 1.8 kg); hence, they had to receive integrated health care. On the other hand, Yasmin was transferred to the women's care to adjust the pressure and monitor her vital signs closely. “As a result of the pain I was suffering, I lost my conscious, but thanks god I am now in good health having beautiful quadruplets.” Yasmin gratefully mentioned, but with her eyes cast down fearful of the unknown future.

It was very likely that Yasmin’s life would be threatened and the four infants’ lives would be in danger, which may have ended in new victims of poverty because of the hard situation in the country due to the resident conflict and war.
Yasmine continued to suffer from the anguish of childbirth and endured it until she was transferred to the intensive care room. She received comprehensive and intensified health care from the maternity and child specialists. The fact of an Integrated medical staff keenness, along with ensuring for the provision of supporting health service providers by YFCA, made a great difference in the lives of the beneficiaries.
