Yahya Saad Al - Wazzak 49 years old - Shibam - Al Mahwait.

Yahya Al Wazzak, an occupant of the city of Shibam Kokban in Mahwait province is a Barber shop owner. The 49 years old man was the first to suffer from Cholera in the city of Shibam, which has seen a widespread outbreak of the disease. He was rushed a day after feeling the symptoms of the disease to the health center set up by the Yemen Family Care Association in Shibam’s General Hospital.
At the time, he was very frightened for his seven children and his wife from infection. He remained in the center for two days under high health care until he recovered completely. Fortunately none of his family members was infected by Cholera. Knowing his family was safe and well, Yahya resisted the disease and fought hard to get better.

"The worst of calamity makes one laugh ". So they say. Yahya stated, while laughing "I remember when I was cured from Cholera, the men were fleeing from me. They were afraid they would catch Cholera from me. I swore to them that I was now Cholera free but they did not believe me. Once they saw a customer who came for a haircut leave my shop looking healthy and quiet fine, they felt safe to come back to my barber shop again…
It was very amusing watching the customer sit on the chair looking very nervous and scared. Thanks to Allah, everything is back to normal”. Yahya now returned to his customers and work with enthusiasm.
