Jameela / grieving mother and her suffering over cholera - Bani Saad - Al Mahwait

Jameela al-Rashdi, mother of three children, of which all were affected by the Cholera epidemic that swept through their small village Al Karab, which is part of Beni Saad in Al-Mahwait Governorate. The hospital of the area is located in the acute watery Diarrhea treatment center. To deal with the Cholera epidemic that has spread in the city in a horrific way and has taken a large number of lives.

"I was horrified when I saw my children suffering. I was so afraid to lose them as I have lost their brothers before them" stated Jameela, who has already lost five of her children due to other illnesses.

With a treatment center for Cholera near by, the mother suffered as she watched her children in pain as they physically collapsed and were severely fatigue due to the epidemic which drained their bodies and almost caused their kidneys to stop functioning due to the severe dehydration caused by Cholera. They remained under the care of the Center's specialists for six full days until they were able to fight back the malignant disease and overcame its death grip.

They returned to their normal lives among their peers in the village and under their mother's care who suffered in order to take care of her children.
The boys returned to the health center with their mother in full health not for treatment but to visit the place that saved their lives by the grace of God after the dark night that brought them there fighting death for a chance to live.
