Access to safe water is an absolute necessity for everyone around the world, especially in Yemen, and taking on the issue of ensuring access to safe water requires worldwide effort.
Therefore, Yemen Family Care Association (YFCA) has repaired and rehabilitated the Al-Oulia 1 water asset in Bayhan district of Shabwah Governorate in Nov-2022 by supplying, installing, and operating the solar system with a motor and submersible water pump, including all accessories, as well as covering the well with protection walls. Besides, rehabilitating the engine room, and installing a chlorine injection device that works with the solar system to ensure that the beneficiaries have safe access to clean water, and the number of beneficiaries from this well is about 20,000 beneficiaries.
In the framework of the ongoing project of WASH and humanitarian food assistance for IDPs, host communities, returnees and marginalized groups in six districts of Shabwah Governorate-Yemen, which is funded by German Humanitarian Assistance (AA) in partnership with Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe (DKH).
This activity aimed to:
- Develope access to safe and sustainable drinking water for the people in the targeted district.
- Contribute effictively in reducing the spread of water-related epidemics and diseases.
