YFCA in partnership with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) under the BRIGHTLY project, delivered a hands-on training course on greenhouse management in Bayhan District, Shabwah Governorate. The training covered greenhouse operation, irrigation management, pest control, crop selection, post-harvest handling and basic marketing skills to help participants access local markets. Twenty beneficiaries attended the multi-day practical sessions, receiving both theoretical briefings and on-site demonstrations using newly installed greenhouse units and irrigation systems.
This activity complements YFCA’s greenhouse implementation component and aims to increase crop yields, strengthen food security and create sustainable income opportunities for vulnerable households in the district. Trainees received starter agricultural inputs and guidance on linking production to local value chains. YFCA will follow up with technical support and market guidance to help participants scale production and improve household resilience.
