YFCA launched the second phase of its child vaccination initiative in Hadramout, reaffirming its commitment to improving child health and expanding access to essential immunization services.
The launch was marked by a kick-off workshop held in Seiyun under the theme “Leaving No Child Behind.” The initiative is implemented in partnership with the International Rescue Committee (IRC), funded by Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, and carried out in close coordination with the public health office.
The workshop brought together key stakeholders, including health professionals, community representatives, and field volunteers, to align efforts and ensure a strong and coordinated start to the second phase. Discussions highlighted the importance of building on previous successes and further strengthening outreach activities to reach more children with life-saving vaccines.
Participants reviewed the progress achieved during the first phase, which included effective community engagement, awareness campaigns, and strengthened local capacities to support immunization services. These achievements reflect positive momentum and increasing community engagement with vaccination efforts.
The second phase will build on these successes by expanding outreach activities, enhancing communication approaches, and reinforcing collaboration with communities to ensure broader coverage. Special focus will be placed on increasing awareness, improving service accessibility, and supporting families in accessing routine immunization.
Through this initiative, YFCA continues to play a vital role in promoting healthier communities and ensuring that children have the opportunity to grow up protected from preventable diseases.
