YFCA conducted a series of Basic Legal Awareness Training workshops for 50 frontline protection workers in Al Dhale’e and Shabwah Governorates on 22–23 July 2026. The training was implemented under the Building Resilience through Integrated Community-Based and Humanitarian Systems Transformation and Leadership in Yemen (BRIGHTLY) project, funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).
The workshops brought together frontline protection workers from government institutions, community structures, and protection actors to strengthen their legal knowledge and practical skills in protecting women, children, and other vulnerable groups. The training covered humanitarian protection principles, case management standards, national legal frameworks, and the roles and responsibilities of frontline protection workers in delivering safe, ethical, and accountable services.
Participants also enhanced their understanding of legal referral pathways, enabling them to identify cases requiring specialized support and apply appropriate referral procedures while upholding the principles of confidentiality, informed consent, dignity, and the "Do No Harm" approach.
Using interactive presentations, case studies, group discussions, and scenario-based exercises, the training equipped participants with practical skills to address protection challenges effectively and provide rights-based protection services in line with humanitarian and legal standards.
This training reflects YFCA's continued commitment to strengthening the capacities of frontline protection actors and improving the quality of protection services delivered to vulnerable communities through the BRIGHTLY project.
