YFCA, in partnership with CRS, concluded the Building Sustainable Livelihoods Yemen (BSL) project by organizing a close-out workshop in Aden City on 23 July 2026. The event brought together project teams from both organizations to celebrate the project's achievements, review implementation experiences, and identify key lessons to strengthen future livelihood interventions.
Over the timeline of the project, vulnerable women and men benefited from a range of livelihood interventions designed to improve household income and promote self-reliance. These included vocational skills training, business development support, home gardening, financial inclusion initiatives, and support for income-generating activities, enabling beneficiaries to establish and expand sustainable livelihoods.
During the workshop, participants reviewed the project's achievements through presentations highlighting key results, implementation experiences, and lessons learned. Discussions also focused on practical recommendations for enhancing the design and delivery of future livelihood programs, while emphasizing the importance of sustaining project outcomes through continued community engagement and post-project support.
The workshop also featured a documentary showcasing beneficiaries' success stories, illustrating how the project contributed to improving livelihoods, creating economic opportunities, and strengthening resilience among vulnerable communities. The stories reflected the determination of beneficiaries and the collaborative efforts of YFCA and CRS in supporting sustainable economic recovery.
The workshop concluded by reaffirming the shared commitment of YFCA and CRS to building resilient communities through sustainable livelihood initiatives and applying the knowledge and lessons gained from the project to maximize the impact of future development programs.
