YFCA Launches Local Funding Mechanism Workshop to Strengthen Local Humanitarian Leadership
Thursday, 20 August, 2026

YFCA launched a two-day Local Funding Mechanism (LFM) learning and launch workshop in Aden on 19–20 August 2026 under the Humanitarian System Transformation through Local Humanitarian Leadership (HST-LHL) project, in partnership with Oxfam.
The workshop brought together local and national humanitarian organizations and key stakeholders to strengthen understanding of localization and promote greater access to humanitarian funding for local actors. It focused on strengthening local leadership, decision-making, and capacity to deliver more sustainable, accountable, and community-responsive humanitarian responses.
As part of the PACT (Partnership for Aligned Cooperation and Transformation) model, representatives from three local organizations presented their planned four-month interventions focusing on WASH, protection and economic empowerment, and disaster risk reduction.
The workshop also provided an opportunity for representatives from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour, Oxfam, and HST-LHL partners to exchange experiences and strengthen collaboration toward locally led humanitarian action.
Through the LFM initiative, YFCA and its partners aim to advance localization by supporting local organizations to take a stronger role in humanitarian leadership, funding, and decision-making.
