YFCA with funding from the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), has commenced the distribution of small grants and start-up capital to beneficiaries of Income-Generating Activities (IGA) under the Building Resilience through Integrated Community-Based and Humanitarian Systems Transformation and Leadership in Yemen (BRIGHTLY) Project.
The grant distribution began on 24 August 2026 in Al-Dhale’e Governorate, followed by distributions in Shabwah Governorate from 26 August 2026. The support represents the next stage of the IGA intervention, following the completion of business skills and small business management training for participating beneficiaries.
The grants are designed to help beneficiaries establish or strengthen their selected small businesses in line with their approved business plans, enabling them to invest in viable income-generating opportunities and build more sustainable livelihoods.
A total of 174 beneficiaries are targeted across the two governorates. In Al-Dhale’e, 95 beneficiaries are supported across Al-Dhale’e and Al-Shuaib districts, while 79 beneficiaries are targeted in Bayhan and Mayfa’ah districts of Shabwah Governorate.
Through this intervention, YFCA and its partners aim to promote economic inclusion, strengthen household resilience, and expand access to sustainable income-generating opportunities for vulnerable communities.
The IGA component forms part of the BRIGHTLY Project's broader efforts to strengthen community resilience and support vulnerable households in developing pathways toward greater economic stability and self-reliance.
