Monday, 28 September, 2026

YFCA conducted a three-day training on governance and business management for members of two agricultural cooperative associations in Tur Al-Bahah District, Lahij Governorate, from 22 to 24 September 2026.
The training was organized under the project “Improving Food Security and Strengthening the Resilience of Farmers and Livestock Keepers in Al-Hudaida and Lahij, Yemen,” funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented in partnership with Action Against Hunger (ACF).
The training targeted the board and monitoring committee members of Buthoor Multi-Purpose Agricultural Association and Al-Arabdi Multi-Purpose Agricultural Cooperative Association. It focused on strengthening participants’ knowledge and skills in governance, institutional and financial management, roles and responsibilities, business planning and management, transparency, and accountability.
Through this capacity-building support, YFCA aims to strengthen the effectiveness and sustainability of agricultural cooperative associations, enabling them to improve their management practices and provide more effective services to farmers while contributing to stronger and more resilient agricultural livelihoods.
The activity was carried out in coordination with relevant authorities of the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation and local authorities in Lahj Governorate and Tur Al-Bahah District.
