 Amman, Jordan:
YFCA becomes a member in the EU-led Call-to-Action!
Yemen Family Care Association (YFCA) becomes a member of the global initiative of the Call to Action (C2A) on Protection from Gender-Based Violence in Emergencies which is currently led by the European Union [through the Directorate General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations] in line with the Roadmap 2016-2020.
The C2A is a multi-stakeholder initiative launched in 2013 by couple of States, Donors, IOs and NGOs to fundamentally transform the way gender-based violence is addressed in humanitarian emergencies. The aim is to drive change and foster accountability so that every humanitarian effort, from the earliest stage of a crisis, includes the policies, systems and mechanisms to mitigate gender-based violence risks, especially violence against women and girls, and to provide safe and comprehensive services to those affected by gender-based violence.
Partners: 24 states, 15 UN agencies and 42 NGOs (including YFCA) will achieve their common aim by implementing the Road Map 2016-2020. This is the overarching guiding framework that sets out common objectives, targets and a governance structure, to ensure that pledges are translated into concrete and targeted actions on the ground. It identifies priority actions to be undertaken by stakeholders in policies, systems and programs. It is also composed of a monitoring and evaluation plan to measure achievements.
