225Individuals were targeted on hygiene promotion sessions

Hygiene promotion is one of the activities of the water and ‎sanitation intervention for the displaced and host ‎communities in Damt - dis, Aldhale Gov. ‎ Funded by the Yemeni ‎Humanitarian Fund (YHF) and implemented by Yemen Family ‎Care Association ‎‎(YFCA), and under the framework of providing the necessary ‎awareness in ‎the field of promoting public hygiene and effective community ‎participation, 10 nominated community volunteers ‎conducted 20 Hygiene promotion awareness sessions ‎at ‎ Damt -dis, Aldhale Gov.‎ This was done to also achieve a change in community ‎behaviors mainly in hygiene and ‎environmental sanitation. These sessions have started in Damt dis on April 2022 and will continue for four months. In this month (May), the volunteers conducted 20 sessions for 225 individuals in the IDPs camps and most vulnerable host communities at a rate of two sessions per month. Thus, the total number of individuals who have benefited from this activity until now is 450 individuals.‎ Currently, the targeted beneficiaries are more aware of the topics that were given to them, such as the ways of safe disposal of wastes and the dangers of fecal contamination, diseases it causes, and the safe ways to dispose them.
