YFCA successfully completed the 4th round of cash assistance, the final round, distribution to 300 vulnerable households in three targeted subdistricts of Ar Rawdah, located in the Shabwah governorate through the CFW activity. Each beneficiary household received 149,000 Yemeni Rials as their share of the cash assistance. The Food Security and Agriculture Cluster (FSAC) determined the transfer value based on the approved guidelines and the number of working days each household participated in two specific interventions: gabions construction, rehabilitation, and the building of an agricultural irrigation canal.
The CFW activity is integral to the ongoing Yemen Hunger Crisis Response project, which receives funding from Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe (DKH). The overarching objective of the CFW activity is to enhance the capacity of targeted communities to meet their basic food requirements through cash assistance while simultaneously developing skills through participation in Cash for Work interventions.
The Cash for Work (CFW) activity implemented by the YFCA is crucial in combating food insecurity in Yemen. By providing cash assistance and and integrating livelihood activities, the project ensures that families in need have access to basic food items. In addition, it promotes early action and response to the food insecurity crisis while building resilience within affected communities. Through these efforts, YFCA and its partners work tirelessly to mitigate the challenges posed by food insecurity and improve the overall well-being of the Yemeni population.
