Tuesday, 05 December, 2023

YFCA constructed 20 latrines in Samakhah village in Alazarq district, Aldale governorate. The activity is part of a wider initiative to enhance access to WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) services for the most vulnerable communities in Yemen.
The objective of the project was to improve sanitation conditions and reduce health risks for the residents of Samakhah, who had no access to proper sanitation facilities. The activity involved the construction of 20 latrines, each equipped with a handwashing facility, and a door for privacy. The activity also included the distribution of hygiene kits, which contained items such as soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, sanitary pads, and towels, to improve the personal hygiene of the beneficiaries.
The activity received positive feedback from the beneficiaries, who reported that the latrines have improved their living conditions and reduced the risk of diseases. YFCA plans to continue its WASH interventions in Yemen and expand its reach to more communities in need.
This project has been instrumental in bringing about a profound positive impact. Through the activities, YFCA has successfully transformed the lives of the residents. The project has not only created a healthier environment and mitigated the risks of waterborne diseases but also uplifted the overall well-being of the community, leaving an indelible mark of progress and improved living conditions.
