With significant participation from YFCA, the MENA Cash and Learning Partnership (CALP) successfully conducted its final Regional Task Force (RTF) meeting for the year 2023. The meeting served as a platform to present a recap of the year from the three communities of practice, including support to Gaza Cash Working Group (CWG), and to reflect on the “State of the World’s Cash Report 2023”. YFCA, as the Co-Chair of the Multipurpose Cash Assistance (MPCA) Community of Practice (CoP), provided a comprehensive recap of the meetings conducted during 2023 in the MENA MPCA CoP. Key topics discussed within the MPCA CoP during 2023 included poverty measurements, targeting of social protection programs, a hybrid targeting approach with PMT and categorical systems, and insights from poverty analytics about the poor. The CoP also focused on strategies for delivering cash assistance during an economic crisis, preserving recipient dignity. The meeting concluded with reflections on 2023 and a forward-looking discussion for 2024, emphasizing the continued commitment of MENA CALP, YFCA, and its partners to address the pressing issues in the region.
