YFCA conducted 274 awareness sessions on hygiene promotion in two districts of Shabwah Governorate and three districts of Ad Dali' Governorate. This initiative is part of the project “Multi-Sectoral Emergency Response to Support IDPs and Other Vulnerable Groups in Ad Dali’ And Shabwah Governorate funded by German Federal Foreign Office (AA), in partnership with the Diakonie-Katastrophenhilfe (DKH). These sessions were facilitated by a dedicated team of 25 community hygiene volunteers, comprising 6 males and 19 females who played a crucial role in disseminating key hygiene promotion messages. such as cholera and watery diarrhea, the transmission and prevention of infectious diseases, proper water storage and purification methods, waste disposal safety, and the importance of handwashing and personal hygiene. The impact of these sessions was significant, with a total of 3,069 individuals attending. The attendees included women, men, boys, and girls from different communities, including internally displaced persons (IDPs), marginalized individuals, returnees, and host communities. This comprehensive outreach aimed to ensure that vulnerable groups receive the necessary knowledge and resources to protect themselves from deadly diseases. YFCA's activities are not only raising awareness but also transforming the attitudes and behaviors of the targeted communities. By instilling health-related practices, YFCA strives to reduce the incidence of diseases and ensure that the population in the targeted communities has sustained access to safe drinking water.
