Amman-Jordan
This past week marked a significant milestone for Yemen Family Care Association (YFCA) as our General Manager, Mohanna Eljabaly, played a pivotal role at the Pre-Senior Officials Meeting (Pre-SOM) held in Amman. Mohanna facilitated the Access Working Group, where he led discussions on crucial issues impacting humanitarian operations in Yemen.
The focus of the sessions was on improving humanitarian access, a challenge that has been at the forefront of our efforts in the region. Under Mohanna's leadership, the group delved into key topics such as ensuring the safety and mobility of aid workers, particularly female staff facing specific challenges under current regulations, and addressing bureaucratic obstacles that hinder efficient aid delivery.
The sessions were highly productive, concluding with the formulation of concrete recommendations that will be carried forward to the Senior Officials Meeting in Brussels. These recommendations are set to refine our approach to humanitarian work and improve the operating environment for aid organizations across Yemen.
Mohanna’s expertise and dedicated leadership were instrumental in highlighting the pressing needs and potential strategies to address the complexities of humanitarian access. His contributions underscore YFCA’s commitment to leading by example in the humanitarian sector.
As we move forward, YFCA remains dedicated to implementing these strategies and continuing our collaborative efforts to support the most vulnerable communities in Yemen. We are proud to play an active role in these international discussions and are optimistic about the positive changes they will bring to our ongoing efforts.
Stay tuned for more updates from our upcoming participation in the SOM in Brussels, where we aim to further our discussions and solidify our commitment to humanitarian excellence.
