This initiative targeted health workers operating in health centers across the governorates of Al-Amanah, Al-Hudaydah, Ibb, and Saada.
The training was made possible through the ‘Support Obstetric Emergency and Maternal Services’ project, generously funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). Participants of the course are now adept with a suite of essential skills:
• Understanding Mental Health: Participants gained in-depth knowledge of mental health issues, learning to identify key indicators and pathways to promote well-being.
• Managing Psychological Stress: The course provided insights into the nature of psychological pressure and shock, including their origins and impacts.
• Coping Strategies: Health workers enhanced their ability to manage various psychological pressures through effective coping strategies.
• Recognizing Disorders: The training imparted crucial knowledge on identifying mental and psychological disorders, understanding their levels, and diagnostic approaches.
In addition to these core areas, the health workers received specialized training in:

This initiative marks a pivotal step in YFCA’s commitment to improving the quality of healthcare services in Yemen, particularly in the realm of mental health and psychosocial support. The enhanced capabilities of the health workers are expected to have a profound impact on the communities they serve, especially in these challenging times.
