Seiyon and Shaher- Hadramout Governorate.
YFCA began the Second phase of its Emergency Shelter and WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) relief project for flood-affected individuals in Hadramout Governorate. Funded by MAUK and START NETWORK, the project targets two districts, Sieyon and Shaher, specifically focusing on five IDP (Internally Displaced Persons) camps: Madouda, Al-Idrus, and Mariamah, Al Khazzan, Samoun.
This initiative aims to improve the living conditions of those impacted by the severe floods. The second phase involved conducting different activities that took place in parallel.
Activities:

  • Needs Assessment: YFCA conducted field surveys to understand the specific needs of the displaced residents in the targeted camps.
  • Project Dissemination: YFCA informed the beneficiaries (IDPs) about the project's goals and how it will be implemented.
  • Awareness Sessions: Educational sessions were held to educate residents on preventative measures to avoid the worst effects of future floods and the spread of cholera.
This comprehensive approach ensures that the project addresses the most critical needs of the displaced population and empowers them with knowledge to stay safe during future flooding events.
The YFCA is committed to providing essential support to those affected by the floods in Hadramout. With the successful completion of this phase, the project will move forward to deliver the necessary aid and improve the well-being of the displaced communities.
