In a significant stride towards community empowerment, YFCA  conducted 60 awareness sessions on protection across five districts within the Shabwah and Ad Dali’ Governorates. This initiative is part of the broader Multi-sectoral Emergency Response project aimed at supporting IDPs and other vulnerable groups in the Ad Dali’ and Shabwah Governorates. The project receives funding from the German Federal Foreign Office (AA) in partnership with Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe (DKH).
A dedicated team of 15 community protection volunteers, comprising 5 males and 10 females, engaged with local communities to educate them on critical protection issues. The sessions covered a range of topics crucial for safeguarding individuals and their families, including:
•    The critical role of education
•    The necessity of legal documentation
•    Basic first aid procedures
•    The dangers of child labor
•    The risks associated with early marriage
•    Awareness of mines and war remnants
•    Understanding Child Rights
•    Recognizing and addressing addiction
These sessions reached a total of 728 participants, including women, men, boys, and girls from various backgrounds such as internally displaced persons (IDPs), marginalized groups, and host communities.
Moreover, YFCA’s efforts are directed not only at imparting knowledge but also at fostering behavioral change within the community. The sessions are designed to promote health-conscious attitudes and practices that can significantly reduce disease incidence in health centers. Additionally, they emphasize the importance of sustained access to safe drinking water for the targeted populations.
Through these educational endeavors, YFCA continues to play a pivotal role in enhancing the resilience and well-being of communities in Yemen, steering them towards a safer and healthier future.
