Shabwah and Ad Dali’– August 2024

YFCA conducted 200 awareness sessions on hygiene promotion across two districts in Shabwah and three districts in Ad Dali’, reaching a total of 961 individuals, including women, men, boys, and girls. This activity is part of the ongoing Multi-sectoral Emergency Response project, which supports IDPs and other vulnerable groups in Ad Dali’ and Shabwah Governorates. Funded by the German Federal Foreign Office (AA) in partnership with Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe (DKH)

These sessions, facilitated by 25 dedicated community hygiene volunteers, focused on key hygiene messages such as:
•    Understanding and preventing cholera and watery diarrhea.
•    Methods of transmission and prevention of infectious diseases.
•    Proper techniques for storing and purifying water.
•    Safe disposal of waste.
•    Importance of hand washing and personal hygiene.

The initiative specifically targeted internally displaced persons (IDPs), marginalized groups, returnees, and host communities. By raising awareness about hygiene practices, YFCA aims to reduce the incidence of diseases and improve overall health outcomes in these vulnerable populations.
