Friday, 03 January, 2025

YFCA trained six health workers in psychosocial first aid at a mobile clinic in Marib City. This three-day training is part of the project titled "Provision of Essential Trauma Lifesaving Health Care Services within the MSP Package to the Most Vulnerable Population of IDPs and Host Community and Responding to Cholera Outbreak at Marib City and Marib Al Wadi Districts of Marib Governorate."
The training aimed to enhance the skills of health workers, equipping them with the necessary tools to provide psychosocial support. Participants were taught the importance of psychosocial first aid in improving community mental health, and they were empowered to apply these techniques effectively in the field. The training also fostered an environment of experience sharing, where participants could exchange best practices and learn from each other's experiences. Additionally, the training helped health workers identify the psychosocial and social needs of their service beneficiaries, ensuring they could offer tailored support to those in need.
This initiative underscores the critical role of psychosocial support in trauma care and highlights the ongoing efforts to improve mental health services for the most vulnerable populations in Marib.
