YFCA Establishes IYCF Corners in Al-Dhale’e and Al-Hudaydah Governorates
Saturday, 04 January, 2025

YFCA, with funding from the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF), established 13 Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) corners in Al-Dhale’e and Al-Hudaydah Governorates. This initiative is part of the "Provision of Life-Saving Nutrition Assistance for the Most Vulnerable Groups" project, aimed at improving maternal and child nutrition in these regions.

In Al-Dhale’e Governorate, five IYCF corners have been set up in Al-Dhale’e district, one in Qatabah district, and three in Juban district. Additionally, Al-Hudaydah Governorate now has a new IYCF corner in Bait Al-Faqeeh district.

These IYCF corners are designed to provide essential support to mothers, pregnant women, and caregivers by offering expert guidance and advice on optimal infant and young child feeding practices. Each corner is staffed with one or two healthcare workers (HWs), who receive monthly incentives to sustain their invaluable efforts. The corners are fully equipped with necessary supplies to ensure the provision of comprehensive IYCF-related services.

The establishment of these corners is a vital step towards addressing nutritional challenges in the community. By providing dedicated spaces for nutrition support, the initiative aims to promote healthier futures for children and their families.

This effort reflects ongoing commitments to improve community health services and nutrition outcomes in underserved areas, ensuring that mothers and children receive the support they need for better health and well-being.
