YFCA, funded by Muslim Aid, distributed non-food item (NFI) kits to displaced families residing in Aal Sa'adan and Aal Rakan IDP camps. This initiative is part of the "Enhancing the Living Conditions and Disaster Resilience of Displaced Households in Marib District, Yemen" project, aimed at providing essential relief to vulnerable households facing displacement and harsh living conditions.
Each NFI kit included integrated kitchen, bedding, and other housing materials. To mitigate the intense summer heat, the kits also contained local coolers. Additionally, a solar lighting system was provided to ensure the safety and protection of families, particularly women and children, as they move around their shelters at night. The components of the NFI kits were carefully selected to meet the urgent needs of the beneficiaries.
Demonstrating a strong commitment to humanitarian principles and community inclusivity, the YFCA team delivered the kits directly to the shelters of elderly-headed households who were unable to reach the distribution site. This ensured that no vulnerable household was left without essential support.
This initiative underscores the ongoing efforts of YFCA and Muslim Aid to support displaced families in Yemen, providing them with the necessary tools to improve their living conditions and resilience against future disasters.
