YFCA Launches Kick-off Workshop for "Accelerating Food Security in Yemen" Project

YFCA hosted a kick-off workshop for the "Accelerating Food Security in Yemen (AFSY)" project in Yabouth and Al-Dhali'a districts, Hadramout Governorate. This workshop introduced the project to key stakeholders, emphasizing its significance in addressing food security challenges in the region.
The AFSY project, funded by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and implemented by Mercy Corps and YFCA, focuses on enhancing food systems and improving the livelihoods of smallholder farmers. By promoting sustainable agricultural practices, the project aims to empower local communities, particularly women, men, and youth, to boost their productivity and income.
The event brought together local authorities, NGO representatives, and international organizations, highlighting the importance of collaboration for successful project implementation. Approximately 8,533 individuals in the targeted districts are expected to benefit from the project, which aims to uplift the community and significantly enhance food security.
The workshop was a crucial step for the AFSY project, setting the stage for meaningful changes in the local agricultural landscape. By fostering collaboration and prioritizing sustainable practices, the project is anticipated to play a vital role in improving food security and livelihoods in Hadramout Governorate.
