YFCA implemented Psychosocial Support (PSS) activities for children and their caregivers in Marib City, Marib Governorate, during the period from June to August 2025. Amid the ongoing humanitarian challenges caused by the conflict in Yemen, these interventions, funded by the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF), are crucial for protecting vulnerable families.

During this time, YFCA conducted 81 individual PSS sessions and 178 group sessions. The PSS activities are part of a broader project aimed at providing essential life-saving and life-sustaining multisectoral support to the most vulnerable communities in the region.

The PSS sessions focus on strengthening the coping capacity of children and caregivers, reducing psychological and social stress, and fostering a safe and supportive environment. These activities enhance children’s sense of safety and psychological stability, equipping caregivers with practical skills to manage stress and provide psychological support to their children.

The initiative specifically targets children and caregivers affected by conflict and displacement. Individual sessions cater to those with special needs or direct traumatic experiences, while group sessions emphasize interactive play and recreational activities. Activities like drawing, group games, and educational storytelling are designed to reduce stress and foster a sense of belonging and safety.

YFCA’s Psychosocial Support initiative in Marib represents a vital response to the needs of crisis-affected communities. By creating a supportive environment, these interventions empower beneficiaries to cope with daily challenges and restore hope. Continued investment in psychosocial support is essential for ensuring comprehensive protection and well-being for children and their families in Yemen.
