YFCA Constructs Temporary Learning Schools and Latrines in Marib Governorate
Thursday, 02 October, 2025

Yemen Family Care Association (YFCA), funded by Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF), constructed 8 temporary learning spaces and 4 gender-sensitive WASH facilities (latrines) in Marib Dam School (Alqarda’ai camp) and Al-Thawra School (Aljufaina camp) to address the urgent educational needs of displaced children in Marib City District. Access to education is a fundamental right for every child, yet many in this region have faced significant disruptions due to the destruction of schools and the lack of safe educational environments.

These temporary classrooms are equipped with appropriate furniture, ensuring that displaced children can access a safe and conducive learning environment. The gender-sensitive latrines were designed to protect the dignity, safety, and hygiene of all students, particularly considering the unique needs of girls.

This initiative is part of the project "Provision of essential life-saving and life-sustaining multisectoral support to the most vulnerable communities in Marib City and Khab Wa Ash Sha’f districts." The project aims to provide safe and functional temporary learning environments, facilitate the enrollment and retention of over 320 school-aged children in formal education, improve hygiene and sanitation standards, and enhance the resilience and well-being of displaced communities through integrated education and WASH support.

Through this effort, YFCA and YHF are significantly contributing to restoring the right to education, safeguarding children’s health, and empowering displaced families in Marib for a brighter future.
