The Yemen Family Care Association (YFCA) conducted a comprehensive orientation session on risk management, held from October 28 to 30, 2024, as part of the BRIGHTLY project. This activity aims to strengthen the capacity of local and international partners to manage risks effectively in humanitarian contexts.
The three-day workshop brought together Local Implementing Partners (LIPs) and members of the relevant Technical Working Groups (TWGs) to collaboratively update the BRIGHTLY Risk Register. The focus was on ensuring the inclusion of all potential risks and recommended actions identified through group discussions.
Innovative training methods were employed, utilizing an electronic platform and real-life scenarios to enhance participant engagement and understanding. A total of 35 participants took part in the sessions, which emphasized the importance of local organizations in the risk management process.
Special attention was given to safeguarding risks on the final day, where participants developed practical solutions and mitigation measures to address these challenges effectively. This training not only aims to bolster the capacities of organizations involved but also ensures a more resilient community response to humanitarian needs.
The Building Resilience through Integrated Community-based and Humanitarian Systems Transformation and Leadership in Yemen Project (BRIGHTLY), is funded by the Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), highlighting the commitment to transforming community-based humanitarian systems in Yemen.
