YFCA conducted a specialized training on Gender Responsive Community Mobilization as part of the “Building Resilience through Integrated Community-based and Humanitarian Systems Transformation and Leadership in Yemen (BRIGHTLY)” project, funded by the British Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).
The training took place over two days, beginning on July 23rd in Al-Dhale’e Governorate and concluding on July 24th in Baihan district in Shabwa Governorate. Participants included members from local authorities, protection actors, and project staff from Al-Dhale’e, Al-Shu’aib, Mayfa’a, and Baihan districts.
The agenda covered essential topics such as introductions, participants’ expectations, and training rules; protection and humanitarian response concepts; understanding gender and the distinction between sex and gender; roles and responsibilities of service providers in the community; as well as community mobilization tools in humanitarian action. Interactive activities were incorporated to reinforce learning and encourage participants to share their experiences.
This training is part of YFCA’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the capacities of field workers and local authorities, ensuring a gender-responsive community approach that promotes a safe and resilient society.
