Yemen Family Care Association launched a Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Drill awareness campaign aimed at increasing knowledge among school-aged children. This initiative, supported by the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, is part of YFCA's ongoing efforts to promote community safety and resilience in Al-Mudhaffar District, Taiz Governorate.
Conducted in close collaboration with the local Education Office, the campaign targeted several key schools and featured interactive sessions, engaging discussions, and practical demonstrations. It focused on the dangers posed by natural disasters such as floods and fires, providing children with essential guidance on how to protect themselves and their communities. The campaign emphasized the importance of preparedness, safe behavior, and collective responsibility in minimizing risks.
Approximately 4,814 students, both boys and girls, directly benefited from this initiative, gaining valuable skills and awareness that will extend to their families and neighborhoods. Teachers and school administrators expressed their appreciation for the campaign, recognizing its role in fostering a culture of safety within schools.
This activity reflects YFCA’s commitment to empowering younger generations with the knowledge and tools necessary to tackle future challenges and enhance community resilience.
