YFCA held an awareness event aimed at promoting vaccination for unvaccinated children in Al-Qatn District. This activity is part of the "Multimedia Campaigns, within Enhancing Vaccination Coverage for Under-Immunized Children in Vaccine Resistant Communities through Demand Creation Interventions project, executed in partnership with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and supported by GAVI, in coordination with the Public Health Office.
The event focused on raising awareness about the importance of vaccinations and included various educational and artistic segments designed to engage the community. Activities featured anthems highlighting the significance of vaccination and a theatrical performance titled "Vaccination Saves Lives," presented by "Basmet Amal" group.
One of the key objectives of this activity is to create community demand for vaccinations and to shift prevailing social attitudes towards immunization. The project is being piloted in Al-Qatn and Tarim districts. 
Given recent reports indicating low coverage rates of routine vaccinations in the area, there is a critical need for increased vaccination efforts. The event also provided an interactive segment called "Ask Your Doctor," where health professionals answered questions about vaccinations and conducted educational competitions for children, fostering an engaging and informative atmosphere.
This activity underscores the essential role of community engagement in tackling public health challenges and enhancing vaccination coverage in areas resistant to immunization.
