YFCA concluded a five-day Training of Trainers (ToT) program aimed at empowering Community Extension Agents and role model farmers. This initiative is part of the Accelerating Food Security in Yemen (AFSY) project and was conducted in Yab’uth and Ad Dulay’ah districts of Hadramout Governorate, targeting the pressing challenges of food security and climate change.
In collaboration with Mercy Corps, YFCA designed the training to equip participants with essential skills for educating smallholder farmers on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA). Utilizing farmer field schools, the program focused on enhancing agricultural practices to improve productivity and strengthen resilience against climate impacts.
Key areas of training included methodologies for effective knowledge transfer, management of farmer field schools, integrated pest management, and insights into agricultural value chains. By addressing these components, YFCA aims to promote sustainable agricultural practices that will have a lasting impact on food security.
