Monday, 29 December, 2025

In a significant move to bolster food security in Yemen, YFCA, in partnership with Mercy Corps, successfully initiated the first round of its Cash for Work (CFW) activity. This project is part of the broader Accelerating Food Security in Yemen (AFSY) initiative, which aims to provide financial assistance to vulnerable communities.
During this first round, YFCA distributed 159,900 Yemeni Riyals to each of the 400 beneficiaries selected from the Yab'uth and Aldhulai'a districts in Hadramout Governorate. This cash assistance is designed to help families meet their immediate needs and improve their livelihoods. According to the project leadership, "This initiative not only provides financial support but also empowers community members by giving them a chance to engage in productive work."
The primary goals of the CFW activity include enhancing food security for vulnerable families, creating short-term employment opportunities within the community, and promoting community involvement in developmental projects.
YFCA is committed to monitoring the impact of this initiative and exploring further opportunities to expand its reach. Future rounds of the Cash for Work activity are anticipated, aiming to support more families and communities in need.
