YFCA conducted an extensive hygiene promotion campaign from May to October 2025. This initiative aimed to boost community awareness across the Marib City and Khab Wa Ash Sha'f districts, responding to critical health risks faced by internally displaced persons (IDPs) in these regions.
Throughout the campaign, YFCA successfully held 480 community awareness sessions, highlighting essential practices for personal hygiene, handwashing, safe water usage, and cholera prevention. These sessions were led by trained hygiene promoters who shared valuable information and engaged with community members, fostering improved understanding of hygiene practices.
The campaign is part of the essential multisectoral support provided through the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF) project. Recognizing the escalating threats of cholera and other waterborne diseases in the area, the campaign was strategically expanded beyond its initial targets to ensure comprehensive coverage.
YFCA emphasizes that the long-term impact of these efforts will be evaluated through post-implementation surveys, which will measure changes in community knowledge and practices related to hygiene.
This commitment to improving public health is vital in a region facing significant challenges, and YFCA remains dedicated to supporting vulnerable communities in achieving better health outcomes.
