Yemen Family Care Association (YFCA) completed a training course in awareness and health education for health workers from Manaba and Kataf Districts in Saada Governorate.
The course aims to prepare qualified health staff at the highest level to provide and prepare health education programs to prevent diseases and reduce the physical, psychological, social and economic burdens of these diseases.
The Project Manager explains that this training course is designed to qualify participants to be able to provide the correct health information to patients and contacts and members of the community, in addition to the preparation of health awareness programs and educational materials, benefit from various media communication to promote health among members of society to prevent and control communicable diseases.
The training program included: the basics of health education and communication, evidence-based health care in the field of communicable diseases, presentation and presentation skills, infection control and environmental health, as well as the most important educational messages of diseases in the Yemeni community such as cholera.
In the recent period, especially with the presence of cholera, it was noted that trained health personnel were needed to provide health information and sensitization to community members, patients and contacts, which would have a significant impact in preventing the spread of diseases and reducing the anxiety situation among members of society.
It is noteworthy that this activity comes within the integrated health project in the provinces of Hajjah and Saada funded by the Humanitarian Fund of the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), which began in January 2017.
