YFCA Contributes to Groundbreaking Research on Payment Solutions For Cash And Voucher Assistance
Monday, 05 February, 2024

YFCA participated in preparing a new research report on payment solutions for cash and voucher assistance (CVA) implementers. The report, titled “Payment Solutions for CVA Implementers: A Guide to Finding the Right Payment Partner”, was launched last Wednesday by the Cash Learning Partnership (CaLP), a global network of humanitarian actors engaged in policy, practice, and research within CVA. The report aims to help CVA implementers navigate the complex and evolving landscape of payment providers and aggregators, which are intermediaries that offer access to multiple payment options through a single platform. The report outlines the benefits and challenges that aggregators present, categorizes payment companies based on their features and functions, provides advice around finding the right combination of payment providers to suit different contexts and needs, and introduces new concepts such as a ‘layered’ and ‘blended’ approach to payment solutions. YFCA was the only NNGO among the eight advisory group members who supported the consultant team while preparing the research. The advisory group also included representatives from the United Nations (UN) and international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) with experience and expertise in CVA and payment solutions. YFCA shared its insights and feedback on the report, drawing from its extensive experience in delivering CVA to affected populations in Yemen, using various payment modalities such as mobile money, e-vouchers, bank transfers, and cash-in-hand. YFCA’s participation in the research reflects its commitment to enhancing the quality and effectiveness of CVA in Yemen and beyond, as well as its recognition as a leading NNGO in the field of CVA.
