Monday, 26 May, 2025

YFCA completed the vocational training activities across the Sa’ada, Shabwah, and Al Dhale'e governorates as part of the BRIGHTLY project, funded by the FCDO. This initiative aims to empower communities through integrated community-based and humanitarian systems transformation.
A total of 285 households have been empowered with new skills, paving the way for a brighter future. The training sessions, conducted by governmental vocational institutes in the targeted districts, focused on crucial topics such as Occupational Safety and Life Skills, ensuring accessibility and relevance to local communities.
Participants learned valuable skills in sewing, mobile maintenance, solar installation and maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, car mechanics, and electrical installation. These professions were carefully selected based on a comprehensive Labour Market Assessment, aligning with the urgent needs of the local job market.
To support the graduates in their career journeys, YFCA distributed vocational toolkits, empowering them to apply their new skills effectively. Official certificates were also awarded to recognize their achievements and enhance their employability.

The impact of these training activities extends beyond skill acquisition; they play a crucial role in strengthening community resilience and fostering self-reliance. Through the BRIGHTLY project, YFCA remains committed to creating opportunities for local residents, ensuring they have the tools and support needed to thrive. Together, we are building a more resilient future for Yemen, one skill at a time.
