Community committees are playing an important role in ensuring reaching the most vulnerable people in the community with assistance needed to overcome difficulties and challenges in the field.
From that standpoint, Yemen Family Care Association (#YFCA) conducts a training session for 30 formed community committee members of Cash For Work (CFW) and Unconditional Cash Transfer (UCT) activities in the Ataq and Bayhan districts in Shabwah governorate.
In addition,30 formed community committee members were trained on various topics, including the objectives and activities of the project, the humanitarian standards, and principles and the criteria for selecting beneficiaries; as well as the mechanism for verifying beneficiaries; how to use the beneficiary selection form and how the verification process is carried out to ensure the selection of beneficiaries is withing the targeted criteria. The training included practical aspects of using the survey tool to collect the selected beneficiaries’ information. At the end of the training, the committee members were handed copies of the data collection tool. Noting that those trainees were nominated and elected from two districts (Bayhan and Al-Rawdah Districts) in Shabwa Governorate.
CFW and UCT activities are considered the most important activities of the project of Yemen Hunger Crisis Response, which is funded by the Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe (#DKH).
This training aims to:
• Understand the importance and duties of the community committee & food security and agriculture cluster criteria for selecting beneficiaries.
• Enable the community commitee members to prepare a preliminary list of beneficiaries from all neighborhoods of targeted districts.
• Utilize Hotline and complaints mechanism.
• Know how to reach and register the most vulnerable people.
• Understand the mechanism of community supervision and dealing with beneficiaries (workers).
• Contribute in selecting targeted assets and beneficiaries, and working to overcome difficulties in the field.
