Under the umbrella of the General Food Assistance (GFA) project, Yemen Family Care Association (YFCA) and the World Food Programme (WFP) continued to join forces to provide crucial food assistance to vulnerable households in Yemen.
In April 2023, YFCA distributed food baskets to 24,014 households, providing aid to nearly 168,098 people in Al-Dhale'e Governorate. The targeted locations included the Juban, Damet, Qatabah, and Al-husha districts, where households received in-kind rations of wheat flour and pulses.
This important humanitarian effort aims to reduce the number of people at risk of famine-like and emergency conditions. By providing food assistance to vulnerable households, YFCA and WFP are working to prevent an increase in the number of people experiencing critical food shortages and malnutrition.
The GFA project is just one example of the vital work being done to address the humanitarian crisis in Yemen. Despite ongoing challenges and difficulties, YFCA continues to work tirelessly to provide essential assistance to those in need and to help alleviate the suffering of millions of people affected by conflict and displacement.
