Yemen Family Care Association (YFCA) and the World Food Programme (WFP) have joined forces to provide crucial food assistance to vulnerable households in Yemen for the second cycle of the General Food Assistance (GFA) program. The program covers the month of April 2023, and aims to reduce the number of people at risk of famine-like and emergency conditions. In this cycle, YFCA distributed food baskets to 22,211 households in the districts of Maqbana, Saber Al Mawadem, and Sala in Taiz Governorate, reaching nearly 155,477 beneficiaries.
YFCA and WFP are working to prevent an increase in the number of people experiencing critical food shortages by providing food assistance to vulnerable households. Despite ongoing challenges and difficulties, YFCA continues to provide essential assistance to those in need and alleviate the suffering of millions of people affected by conflict and displacement. This important humanitarian effort aims to address the pressing needs of the most vulnerable populations in Yemen, and to prevent further deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the country.
