In May 2023, YFCA, in partnership with WFP, provided food assistance to the most vulnerable households in the Al-Dhale'e and Taiz Governorates as part of the GFA project third cycle in 2023. The aid reached a total of 46,183 households, benefiting approximately 323,281 people. The distribution took place in the following locations: Al-Dhale'e Governorate (Juban-Damet-Qatabah-Al-husha districts) and Taiz Governorate (Saber Al-Mawadem, Maqbanah, Sala).
The targeted households were provided with in-kind rations of wheat flour, vegetable oil, and pulses, which aimed to mitigate the risk of famine and emergency conditions. This food aid is crucial in preventing an increase in populations experiencing famine-like conditions and breaking the cycle of poverty in the long run.
YFCA's partnership with WFP is critical in addressing the pressing needs of vulnerable populations in Yemen and alleviating the current food insecurity situation. By providing targeted food aid, YFCA and WFP are participating to mitigate the risk of famine and ensure that the most vulnerable households have access to essential food supplies.
