YFCA conducts training in Water Quality Surveillance in Al-Dhale’e Governorate
Tuesday, 13 June, 2023

YFCA recently conducted training in water quality monitoring tests on a house-to-house level in Al-Dhale'e Gov. This activity is part of the YHF #22761 project, which aims to provide emergency life-saving WASH assistance to vulnerable IDPs and host communities, including people with disabilities (PWD), in Sa'ada and Al-Dhale'e Governorates.

The project's goal is to provide durable and sustainable access to safe drinking and domestic water for 15,743 individuals in Damt and Juban districts, in Al-Dhale'e governorate. Within this frame, the local authority in Al-Dhale'a nominated eight volunteers from the locals, four in Damt and four in Juban, who were trained by YFCA in conducting water quality monitoring tests on a house-to-house level. The volunteers took random water samples and tested them using a water multi-hand testing device (PCTS testers).

As a result of the training, the volunteers are going to distribute 0.33-mm Aqua tabs and explain their usage to people. They are also going to promote awareness among people in their districts on ways to keep water in good condition. The volunteers' efforts will help ensure that the most vulnerable people in these districts have access to safe and clean water, critical for their health and well-being.

The YHF #22761 project is part of YFCA's ongoing efforts to provide critical assistance to vulnerable communities affected by the ongoing conflict in Yemen. The overall objective of these efforts is to help ensure that the most acutely vulnerable IDPs and host communities, including PWDs, have access to WASH services and facilities that meet their basic needs and help them maintain their dignity.
