YFCA had the pleasure of hosting a visit from CARE International, represented by Robert Beer, CARE MENA Deputy Regional Director, Emebet Menna, Deputy Director of Program Development and Coordination, and Sameera Handal, Partnership Officer. The primary objective of the visit was to discuss local NGOs' efforts in localization and partnership, as well as to learn more about YFCA's experience and current interventions in various humanitarian sectors.
During the visit, Robert Beer provided background information about CARE's mission and interventions, as well as the organization's strategy in the MENA region. YFCA's team also gave a comprehensive overview of their work and interventions in several humanitarian sectors. The discussions covered various topics and mutual strategic areas of focus, including localization, funding challenges facing Yemen, funding for development projects in Yemen, innovative project ideas, and the interaction between the private sector, NGOs, and governments.
CARE International emphasized its focus on climate change, migration, and empowering youth in its regional strategy. Meanwhile, YFCA highlighted its focus on resilience and development projects and emergency projects.
The visit provided an opportunity for both organizations to share knowledge and expertise, as well as to explore potential areas of collaboration in the future.
