The Maternity and Childhood Center and Mobile Clinic, implemented by YFCA and funded by YHF, continue to provide essential health services to the internally displaced persons (IDPs) and the most vulnerable population in Alazareq district of Al-Dhale governorate. The project, which started in January 2023, aims to improve the access and quality of health care for women, children, and people with chronic diseases.
The project offers a Minimum Health Service Package (MSP), which includes basic and emergency health services, child care, vaccination, management of communicable diseases, early diagnosis and management of non-communicable diseases, medical consultations, and antenatal and postnatal care. The project also provides health education and awareness sessions on topics such as hygiene, nutrition, family planning, and COVID-19 prevention. The Maternity and Childhood Center has served more than 11828 beneficiaries and the Mobile Clinic has also given medical consultation to 5305 beneficiaries since the beginning of the project.
The project is part of the Integrated Famine Risk Reduction (IFRR) package of interventions, which aims to address the root causes and drivers of famine in Yemen. The IFRR package covers four sectors: health, food security and livelihoods, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), and nutrition.
