YFCA has distributed the fourth round of cash assistance to 200 vulnerable households in Bayhan district of Shabwah governorate, as part of its efforts to address the food insecurity crisis in Yemen.The cash assistance is part of the Unconditional Cash Transfer (UCT) activity, which is one of the activities in the framework of the ongoing project of Yemen Hunger Crisis Response, funded by DKH.
The cash assistance, which amounted to 135,500 Yemeni rials per household, was delivered through Focal Service Provider (FSP) distribution points in coordination with local authorities and Community Committees (CCs)..
The UCT activity aims to ensure that households in targeted communities are better able to meet their basic food needs through cash assistance, and that food assistance to the most vulnerable is leveraged to promote early action response and resilience and is properly integrated with livelihood activities. It also aims to help the most vulnerable groups in bridging the gap in their food security situation increase their access to essential food and improve the food consumption scores of the targeted household members.
The cash assistance provided by YFCA is a vital lifeline for vulnerable households in Bayhan district. The assistance will help to improve food security and resilience in the community and will help to promote early action and response to the hunger crisis.
