Within the activities of the “Provision of lifesaving MSP healthcare services and personal hygiene promotion activities to most vulnerable people” project, YFCA, with funding from Muslim Aid (MAUK), conducted a two-day training for fifteen dedicated community health volunteers (CHVs) on hygiene promotion and disease prevention in Rakhiyah and Huraiydhah districts of Hadramout governorate. The comprehensive training program organized and facilitated aimed to equip the CHVs with the necessary knowledge and skills to promote hygiene practices within their communities. The CHVs selection was made by the health offices in the Rakhiyah and Huraiydhah districts of Hadramawt. Seven CHVs received training in the Huraidhah district, while an additional eight CHVs underwent training in the Rakhiyah district.
The CHVs enthusiastically embraced their role and wasted no time in sharing their newly acquired knowledge with their respective communities. Their proactive efforts are expected to have a positive impact on community health outcomes, contributing to improved well-being and disease prevention.
The collaboration between the YFCA, MAUK, and the health offices in Hadramawt showcases a commitment to prioritize the health and welfare of vulnerable populations. By providing training and support to the CHVs, this initiative aims to empower local communities to take charge of their own health through the promotion of proper hygiene practices.
