YFCA rehabilitated Fatima water asset in Ar Rawdah district of Shabwah Governorate. This significant initiative was part of the activities of the project “Multi-Sectoral Emergency Response to Support IDPs and Other Vulnerable Groups in Ad Dali’ and Shabwah Governorate funded by German Federal Foreign Office (AA), in partnership with the Diakonie-Katastrophenhilfe (DKH). The activity aims to address the pressing issue of water scarcity and ensure access to safe and sustainable drinking water for the people in the targeted district. As part of the project, an integrated solar energy system with a production capacity of 85,000 watts was supplied, installed, and operated. To ensure the system's efficient functioning, an inverter and a protective fence were also provided. Additionally, a control room equipped with a water meter and a water pressure gauge was constructed. The rehabilitation efforts have yielded remarkable results, with the well's production capacity reaching 55 cubic meters per hour, totaling 400 cubic meters per day. This substantial increase in water availability has significantly improved the access of citizens in the city of Al-Rawdah to sufficient quantities of water, thereby meeting their daily needs. Access to safe water is a fundamental necessity for people worldwide, and the successful rehabilitation of the Fatima water asset represents a significant step towards ensuring this essential resource for the people of Yemen. This achievement underscores the importance of international collaboration and collective efforts in tackling the global issue of water scarcity."
